Amazing...

This afternoon, I'm sitting on the couch with my kids and we're just hanging out. All of a sudden, Taylor, who is 3 1/2, states "With liberty and justice for all!" Stunned, I look at him and ask what that is (to see if he knows what he's talking about) and he says, "That's the pledge of allegiance mom." Okay, I ask him where he learned that and he tells me, "Miss Aline and Miss Melanie". So I ask him if he knows the whole thing and he asks me to say it with him. What a WOW moment! He knew it, there were a couple of words that he needed help with, but WOW! The funny thing is that he was just as shocked that I knew it!

He also told me, "You know Mom, you're supposed to say it while you look at the American flag."

I'm so impressed, and I had nothing to do with it (except for paying for preschool and taking him twice a week)!

Yay for school!

It's Mine!

Look what I have! I can't wait to dig in! (Unfortunately I have to wait until at least this afternoon.) I just hope it's as good as the Twilight series!

School's Out!

Taylor's preschool had an end of the year party at the park yesterday. Each kid got a bucket full of goodies from their wonderful teachers. Here, Taylor is sporting his visor and sunglasses.

Lylee had fun trying to keep up with the other kids. This is another little sis, Alexa. It's been fun to watch the kids grow up together.

One of the moms brought a parachute. This brings back elementary school days! I loved when we got to play with the parachute! Taylor loved it too.

Taylor, Lylee and Jaida, our friend from across the street, filling their buckets with bark.

It's sad that there are hardly any parks with sand anymore.

Taylor, Marty (Jaida's little brother), Jacob and Nicholas... Here comes trouble!

The whole Spanger Preschool gang! The teacher sitting next to Taylor is Miss Melanie (T calls her Miss Emily). He LOVES her! The wind was blowing like crazy the whole time, but everyone still had a great time!

Taylor will be going back to Kaseberg next year and he will miss all of the kids that won't be with him! What a great year!

Now what are we going to do with him all summer?

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Taylor and Hyrum waiting for the party to start. Don't you love how Taylor made sure that they both have one of the kids from Candy Land? Taylor was trying to get Hyrum to play with him.

Jac and I got pedicures! Grandma even watched Hyrum. It was pure bliss! We both almost fell asleep!

Chris and the kids made this cute candy gram. I haven't seen one of these since high school! Taylor wants to eat ALL of the candy!

Hyrum got hypnotized by the candles. Jacci made me a new cake this year. It was called "The Best Chocolate Cake Ever". I'm not sure about that, but it was incredibly yummy!!!

Sweet Lylee, she looks completely lost. (Like the crazy hair?) She woke up just in time for cake and ice cream. That's my girl!

Taylor loves a good birthday party... especially if you let him help blow out the candles!

So many other great things happened yesterday. Thanks everyone for a great number 34!

Last Day of School

Today is Taylor's last day of school.
On Thursday, they are having a class party at the park, but today is the last day of class.
The year has flown by so quickly. I can hardly believe that in August we were potty training so that Taylor could go to school! Now he is a big kid who knows his number and letters and is even starting to read a few words! He can sit for hours looking at books and spelling words out loud for me.
Taylor has also learned so many fun favorite little kid songs and loves to sing them to us.
He has also started to name all of his animals. He sleeps with two dogs. One is Margie (a boy) and the other is a black and white spotted dog named Dragonfly Skeeter.
On the roof of Daddy's Father's Day present, the wishing well (Taylor and I built it!), are his dinosaur, Rico Rhino Dinosaur and Snakey Icha the Snake. Snakey Icha is Taylor's new favorite friend. He pets him and hugs him and tells everyone how much he loves his new friend!

Cooking with Grandma Cathy

We were lucky enough to have Grandma Cathy come from Colorado and visit us for the week. We had lots of fun with Grandma. She even let Taylor help her make some yummy cinnamon rolls. Grandma Cathy went home this morning. Taylor keeps asking where she is and we've caught Lylee looking for her around the house!

Super Spy Guy

Taylor LOVES his magnifying glass. He sometimes uses it to look at bugs, but lately he loves to play Super Spy. The magnifying glass is for collecting clues!

Whoo - Whoo

Lylee has a sudden infatuation with Taylor's fireman's hat. She also likes to say Whoo-whoo, like a siren.

New Apostle Cards

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a new set of Apostle cards on www.Sugardoodle.net. These have been a great way for Taylor (and his mom & dad) to learn about the General Authorities of the church.

Check it out. This is my favorite website for fun family church stuff!!!

Let me know if you love it too!!!!
